What In The Woo Is Spiritual Branding? ✨

I first felt the intuitive nudge to bring spirituality into my branding design business in 2017. At the time, I had no idea what that meant or how it would unfold… it took two years (and a spiritual awakening) to become clear.

At a crossroads and seeking a deeper sense of purpose in life, I realized that weaving my spirituality into my business was the the only way I could remain authentic and fulfilled in the work I desired to do in the world. (Read more about my story and manifesto here.)

While seemingly disparate, spirituality and business aren’t separate. In fact, running a business can be one of the greatest paths to self-actualization and following our dharma.

Spirituality is a deeply personal experience, and it can mean different things to different people.

To me, spirituality transcends religion; it’s the connection to something greater than ourselves. Call it God, Source, Great Spirit, the Universe—it doesn’t really matter. What matters is the belief that there’s more to life than what our eyes can see.

Your About Page Is The Unsung Hero of Your Website—Here’s How to Create an Effective One

I recently found out my About page was selected for DesignRush’s “Best About Pages” and after the brief sense of achievement (akin to winning the 5th grade spelling bee) wore off, it got me thinking to when I first started rebuilding my business…

The year was 2020. Time didn’t exist. People were either baking sourdough bread or questioning reality.

I hadn’t touched my business in over 3 years and was at a crossroads: did I tear it all down + rebuild or pull the plug entirely?

Maybe it’s because I had just gone through a spiritual awakening, where everything in my personal life was torn down and in the process of being rebuilt (so what was one more thing?) or because I have a general mistrust of “the easy way out,” I opted for an overhaul.

And it all started with my About page…

Client Conversations: Branding Reflections with Jewels

I recently finished the brand strategy, logo, and brand identity design for Jewels Castellano, an intuitive life coach and business mentor.

Afterwards, she shared her experience of working with me on the transformative process of creating her brand… how things have shifted for her through this work, what she received (+ didn’t expect!), and her advice to other empathic entrepreneurs considering investing in their brand.

Ram Dass, Triggers, and Big News!

A close friend and I recently shared an open-hearted conversation about the reality of our spiritual journeys. Our greatest healing hasn’t come from meditation or yoga or plant medicine…

It came from being triggered.

We’ve both experienced the biggest breakthroughs when we were overcome by the emotional tsunami of a trigger—rage, grief, despair (or whatever cocktail of feelings was being served.)

True spiritual growth comes from the greatest discomfort. It’s not all love and light. 🌈 🦄 💫

Triggers are our teachers.

Every trigger is an opportunity to expand into a deeper level of awareness in order to bring ourselves back into balance, which is what true healing is all about.

Inspired Notes: Routine and Rebellion

Occasionally, I feel called to share inspired notes with my email community.

Call them downloads, channeled messages, or intuitive hits—the wisdom I receive in these instances feels like it comes from outside of me. And for that reason, I get the sense that it doesn’t belong to me; it wants to be shared.

This one is about my recent reflections regarding routine and rebellion inspired by an impromptu trip I took + an excerpt from my personal journal…

Squarespace Hack: How to Hide Flodesk Pop-ups on Specific Pages

As with any of my Squarespace hacks, usually they come about because I was trying to figure out the workaround for myself or a client. Today’s is no different!

I recently switched my email marketing service from ConvertKit to Flodesk* because of the simplicity and design-first approach that Flodesk offers. (And I haven’t looked back.)

But since Flodesk is relatively new, there aren’t many resources for figuring out how to make it work exactly like you need it to with Squarespace.

I was looking for a way to hide my Flodesk pop-up on my ‘Quick Links’ page—a custom Instagram bio link page similar to Linktree (another Squarespace Hack) because it wasn’t the best experience for my website visitors.

So when I couldn’t find the answer in a quick Google search, I took matters into my own hands…

Two Simple Updates That Will Completely Transform Your Website (Before + After)

In my new audio course, Generic to Genuine, I talk about how to create a more authentic website. As I was recording the last episode about the importance of design, I realized it would be easier to show than tell…

So I decided to try an experiment.

I took a generic Squarespace theme and ONLY changed the fonts and colors. The layout and all of the content—text and photos, is exactly the same.

The difference is astounding.

The website was completely transformed by those simple design changes. Before, it was subdued and lifeless. After, it’s brimming with personality; it’s more vibrant, compelling, and inviting. (Keep reading to see the before and after!)
