What In The Woo Is Spiritual Branding? ✨

I first felt the intuitive nudge to bring spirituality into my branding design business in 2017.

At the time, I had NO idea what that meant or how it would unfold…

It took two years (and a spiritual awakening!) to become clear.

At a crossroads and seeking a deeper sense of purpose in life, I felt compelled to use my business as a force for good, not just personal gain.

I discovered that weaving spirituality into my business was the the only way I could remain authentic and fulfilled in the work I desired to do in the world.

I realized that for me—and other conscious creators—spirituality and business aren’t separate. In fact, running a business can be one of the greatest paths to our higher purpose.

LET ME FIRST CLARIFY “BRAND”

Your brand is not your brand identity...

Brand identity makes up the tangible elements of your brand (the logos, colors, fonts, messaging, visuals, etc.)

Brands are energy.

Not something that can be touched, but can definitely be felt.

In spiritual branding, your authenticity is your greatest asset.

And the branding process becomes the way to attune your business to this distinct frequency.

It aligns the inner and outer expressions of your business with your truth.

NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT THE SPIRITUAL PIECE FOR A SEC…

Spirituality is a deeply personal experience, and it means different things to different people.

To me, spirituality is the connection to something greater than ourselves. Call it God, Source, Great Spirit, the Universe—it doesn’t really matter. What matters is the belief that there’s more to life than what our eyes can see. (And isn’t it incredible how magical life becomes when we trust in that?)

Spirituality isn’t just mala beads and cacao ceremonies. It’s not a trend or only one expression.

I believe true spirituality is borne from compassion. It comes from a genuine connection to your heart.

Which is why spirituality is so closely connected to the healing journey. As we become more aware of the blocks we hold in our hearts—and tend to them—the more capacity we have to lead, create, and serve from genuine compassion and a higher purpose.

Imagine a world led by people who create and serve from that place. I dunno about you, but that’s the world I want to live in. That’s what I choose to give my energy to.

Spiritual branding is about so much more than how it looks… it’s about how it feels.

Yes, the visual elements of your brand matter—the logo, the colors, the fonts. But without deeper meaning, it’s just aesthetics. It looks pretty but it doesn’t embody truth.

Beauty without depth doesn’t transmit the same frequency. It lacks soul.

And people feel that. Especially in the spiritual and healing space, where you—and your clients—are likely highly sensitive, intuitive beings attuned to subtle energy. Making it all the more important to your business.

With so much noise in the online space (and AI-generated everything), we are all craving something that we connect to. Something real. And that’s not about perfection; it’s about truth.

More than ever, standing out means standing firmly in who you are in all your raw, imperfect, one-of-a-kind essence. Your individuality is a divine gift. This is your “key differentiator!” One that no one can imitate.

A foundation of many spiritual practices, intention-setting is like placing a direct order with the Universe. It’s using your free will to say ‘this is what I want.’

Intentions sharpen the aperture of our focus, helping us clarify what’s truly important so we can bring that vision to fruition.

If you’ve ever done a new moon intention ritual, you know that beginnings are powerful moments to plant these seeds of intention.

When we open the branding container with intention, it elevates the process from purely practical to spiritual, by inviting in magic.

Spiritual branding can be healing.

When I started my business, I never expected branding work to be healing. In my mind, they were two different realms!

But time and again, clients have reflected to me how deeply healing it is to go through the process of creating their brand with me.

I believe it’s because this work is about being seen for who you really are. And that’s an essential part of the healing process.

In the words of my branding client, Jewels:

Spiritual branding is guided by intuition.

It never ceases to amaze me how magic unfolds in my branding containers with clients. (3:33 on the clock as I write this!)

I had to first foster greater self-trust in my gifts and intuition before I could receive that full trust from my clients. This taps into the work I’ve been doing on my personal spiritual journey that reflects back into my business. (Evidence that these two paths—business and spirituality—are not separate but actually one and the same!)

The beauty is that the more I trust my intuitive process, the more truly magical experiences I receive reflected back to me by clients.

As an example, while designing the logo for a client, I was guided to pull oracle cards I spotted at a friend’s house. I immediately received an intuitive ping for the direction of her logo: a mermaid.

When I looked up the spiritual symbolism of mermaids, it aligned perfectly with the deeper meaning of her brand…

Mermaids are guardians between worlds: land and water, human and spirit. They symbolize intuition, journeying to emotional depths, and rebirth. Which is exactly what my client supports others with in her coaching business.

Then, before even mentioning this to my client, she shared the meaning of her name: “Jen means ‘white wave’ and carries the energy of water—fluid, cleansing, and intuitive.” I was blown away.

AND as if that weren’t magical enough, when I shared the oracle card spread with my client, this was her response…
