What In The Woo Is Spiritual Branding? ✨
The “spiritual” term gets thrown around a lot these days, resulting in a watered-down word that means different things to different people.
For some, it’s specific to religion; for others, it’s a blanket term to relate to those who are aware of higher levels of consciousness.
Either way, it establishes a foundation of values alignment, which is important when finding people you connect with. This goes for business partnerships as much as personal relationships.
For me, it was the only way I could remain authentic and fulfilled in the work I desired to do in the world, after a life-altering spiritual initiation. (You can read more about that on my About page.)
Despite its somewhat vague meaning, I have found “spiritual” supportive as an umbrella term for my business. It has served as a high-level differentiator, attracting people I resonate with on a deeper level… yogis, therapists, oracles, intuitive coaches—folks I call “modern mystics.”
So here’s what spiritual branding means to me and how it expresses in my business…
Spiritual branding is rooted in intention.
Whether it’s in my self-discovery branding workbook or one-on-one in a client Alignment Session, all of my offerings begin with intention.
Intention-setting is a powerful practice that guides us in bringing our vision into fruition. It sharpens the aperture of our focus, align with our desires, and get clear on what’s most important to bring into our reality.
Ultimately, it supports us in creating the most fulfilling version of our business.
Your intentions are unique to you. For one person, it may mean becoming a millionaire in five years. For another, it can mean creating more spaciousness and wealth in the form of time instead of money. Each would express in different realities, goals, and actions. One isn’t better than another—it’s about what’s best for you.
Spiritual branding is focused on alignment & personal truth.
Sat Nam is a Sanskrit mantra meaning “Truth is my essence.” It recognizes that there are many truths—many experiences, many perspectives—that are equally true since we are all expressions of one source consciousness. To me, Sat Nam means that I honor your truth as I honor my own truth.
This has become a guiding principle in my life and business. As a former people-pleaser, I had to recognize detrimental patterns of self-abandonment in order to step into living an authentic life.
Much of the spiritual journey is about claiming what’s true to us and releasing what is based on negative programming and fears that do not serve us. The process is similar in branding…
Owning our truth is the key to our magnetism. Branding is a tool for claiming that within our business.
The majority of my branding process focuses on uncovering and claiming the deeper meaning of your business. Also known as brand strategy, it’s fundamental to your success as a business owner—not just in the terms of marketing, sales, and other “business-y things,” but in how fulfilled and connected you feel to the work you’re doing.
Spiritual branding is guided by intuition.
Having the structure of a solid brand strategy and boundaries within my design process are what have enabled me to truly allow my intuition to lead the design process.
One of the boundaries I’ve implemented is a one-concept approach. As an example, instead of presenting multiple logo options, I present one logo + brand identity concept that has been explored extensively. This relieves my clients of indecision and overwhelm while enabling me to focus my energy on creating the best possible solution for their brand—one that is meaningful, stunning, cohesive, and designed for versatility and longevity.
This is only possible because of the level of work my clients and I have invested in before beginning the branding design—through the deeply explorative brand strategy process—and their level of trust in me. I had to first foster greater self-trust in my gifts and intuition before I could receive that full trust from others. Again, this taps into the work I’ve been doing on my personal spiritual journey and then reflects back into my business.
The beauty is that the more I trust my intuitive process, the more truly magical experiences I receive reflected back to me by clients.
